Putnam County Hospital has partnered with Franciscan Health to expand its heart services. Cardiologists with Indiana Heart Physicians, a Franciscan Physician Network practice, are now seeing patients — right here at PCH in Greencastle.

Putnam County Hospital offers comprehensive heart care in a comfortable and convenient setting for patients and their families. Franciscan Health is renowned for providing advanced heart care, landmark research and innovative heart treatments. Together, both PCH and Franciscan Health are making access to heart care easier and more convenient with board-certified cardiologists seeing patients five days a week. They will begin seeing patients on Oct. 5.

The new cardiologists include: Michael D. Barron, MD, FACC; Ryan P. Daly, MD, FACC, FASE; Sree K. Paleru, MD, FACC; Derrick J. Plahn, DO and Vijay U. Rao, MD, PhD, FACC, FASE.

“Putnam County Hospital is excited to partner with Franciscan Health to bring a full-time cardiology clinic and outstanding cardiac support to our community,” Dennis Weatherford, Putnam County Hospital CEO, said. “We are continuously working to bring much-needed services, such as cardiology, closer to home.

“This partnership,” Weatherford added, “provides our friends and neighbors with world-class cardiac care in their own backyard. The fully-staffed clinic, open Monday through Friday with board-certified cardiologists from Indiana Heart Physicians, is a welcome addition to our health care family.”

To make an appointment with one of the board-certified physicians, Monday through Friday, persons may call 800-992-2081 or visit pchosp.org for more information.

For more than 90 years Putnam County Hospital has served the same mission and standards set by its founders: To provide exceptional healthcare to friends and family in Putnam County, by continuing to provide a number of outpatient and inpatient services as a Critical Access Hospital in Greencastle.

PCH offers a 24-hour Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, an Acute Care Medical/Surgical unit and three surgical suites. Observation, inpatient care and rehabilitation programs are offered within the units. A host of outpatient services are also available.

Cancer treatments, rehabilitation services, an outpatient clinic with more than 10 varied specialties, digital radiology, laboratory and respiratory services are located in-house to provide more options for patients in one stop.
