Post cash/check receipts (co-pays) and miscellaneous monies received via the mail and interoffice into the computer and prepare daily bank deposit by remote deposit, CC online or deposit slips. Post insurance/patient payments received via lock box or EFT daily.
Process refunds and payment plans daily. Post and issue refunds
Process Collections Agency Remits weekly
Respond to inquiries concerning account balances, third party payments, etc., from patients, relatives and/or third party payers in a timely manner.
Routinely review all claims that have been entered into the system for 30-45 days within your designated insurance group
Contact third party payers by telephone or online that have failed to make appropriate payments with follow up correspondence (or fax), as indicated.
Demonstrates good judgment and reasoning when investigating and solving problems. Demonstrates good judgment in respecting the confidentiality of patient and employee information. Seeks guidance and direction in the performance of responsibilities and duties. Consistently acts as a customer service representative for the company.
Works well with supervisor and all others in positions of authority. Maintains cooperative working relationship with all personnel. Promotes a high degree of morale and spirit of motivation within the office. This includes the degree of cooperation, communication and coordination between this function and other employees. Demonstrates ability to tactfully handle difficult situations.
Consistently shows ability to recognize and deal with priorities.
Performs all duties in an independent manner with minimal direction and supervision. Recognizes and performs duties which need to be performed although not directly assigned
Make reasonable efforts to limit the use and disclosure of (PHI) Protected Health Information to the Minimum Necessary in order to perform job. Maintains a well-groomed appropriate appearance. Maintains a clean, well-kept work area. Follows all safety rules.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
This is a Full time, benefit eligible position working Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm and 75 hours per week.
