Putnam County Hospital Celebrates and Raises Funds with an
Ugly Holiday Sweater Contest
The Putnam County Hospital Service Pillar held an Ugly Holiday Sweater contest on December 13, 2013 to celebrate the holidays and raise funds for the Putnam County Hospital H.O.P.E. project (orchestrated by the Putnam County Hospital People Pillar). Staff members were encouraged to visit Administration and have their picture taken at the photo booth to be entered in the contest. The following week, PCH staff took part in a ‘penny war’, voting for their favorite ugly sweater. The winners were then announced at the Holiday Pitch-In Luncheon, held Friday, December 20, 2013. Jim Whicker, Pharmacy, and Lori Lucas, Marketing, took home the sought-after trophies. PCH is proud to announce that $276.01 plus a $100 anonymous donation was presented to the People Pillar to kick-off their H.O.P.E. funds for 2014.
* H.O.P.E. Fund (Helping Our People in Emergencies)
Because we care about each other and recognize that there are times in our lives when we may find ourselves facing financial hardships, The PCH People Pillar has chosen to establish the H.O.P.E. Fund. (concept borrowed from Hendricks Regional Health in Danville, IN). The fund will help associates obtain basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter, or other needs that may be more complex.
