Putnam County Hospital has expanded once again, bringing even more healthcare options to Putnam County. Pulmonary Rehab is located on the 2nd Floor of Putnam County Hospital in conjunction with Cardiac Rehab. The Cardiac Rehab team is excited to bring Pulmonary Rehab to PCH and is excited to welcome Dr. Alawaht as the medical director and Chelsea Beasley to the team.
Pulmonary rehabilitation is a supervised program that includes exercise training, health education, and breathing techniques for people who have certain lung conditions or lung problems due to other conditions. Your doctor may recommend pulmonary rehabilitation to help you breathe easier and improve your quality of life for certain lung conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, pulmonary hypertension, and cystic fibrosis. It can also improve daily life for people who have scoliosis or other health problems that limit lung function. Pulmonary rehabilitation can help you gain strength, reduce symptoms of anxiety or depression, and make it easier to manage routine activities, work, and outings or social activities that you enjoy. Our program uses a multidisciplinary approach to reduce symptoms and improve quality of life in patients with compromised lung function.
You may benefit if you have been diagnosed with any of these conditions:
One common question is if Pulmonary Rehab is covered by insurance? Medicare and most other insurers provide reimbursement for pulmonary rehab. Check with our pulmonary rehab team and your insurance company to determine if pulmonary rehab is covered under your insurance plan.
