guild check presentation1 The Putnam County Hospital Guild held their annual fall luncheon on November 11, 2014. During the luncheon, the attendees enjoyed a presentation from Paul Sanders, Putnam County Hospital Radiology Department Manager, and Dr. Joseph Hunt, Radiologist, about the new services at Putnam County Hospital. A great discussion that reviewed cardiac scoring and lung cancer screenings engaged the audience while they enjoyed a catered lunch from the hospital’s dietary department.

The luncheon also included the presentation of the 2015 new slate of officers. New to 2015 will be Brenda Heacock, Guild Secretary, and Mary Hirt, Member-at-Large. The afternoon concluded with the Guild presenting Dennis Weatherford, Putnam County Hospital Chief Executive Officer, with a check for the amount of $14,272.00. The Guild has requested that this money be used for the purchasing of the following: $4,272 for four wheelchairs; $5,000 for one recumbent cross-trainer for the physical therapy department; with the remaining balance going toward new chairs in patient rooms.  Mr. Weatherford graciously accepted the check on behalf of Putnam County Hospital and thanked the Guild for their dedication and countless hours of service to the hospital.

The Putnam County Hospital Guild was established to help promote and advance the welfare of PCH through volunteer services, in fundraising efforts and promote a better understanding of the services available to the community.

Today, the Guild plays a very active role in the success of Putnam County Hospital.  Through various fundraisers and gift shop sales, the organization is able to contribute to the purchase of equipment, support community-minded programs and scholarships.
