October is breast cancer awareness month and Putnam County Hospital is dedicated to educating the community about the top of the line resources available close to home to keep women proactive in their breast health.
Putnam County Hospital will be hosting a GO PINK Open House in the main lobby of the hospital on Friday, October 6. From 9am to 2pm, the community is invited to enjoy sweet treats while browsing the gift baskets that will be raffled off at 2pm. Raffle tickets can be purchased between Sept. 22-Oct. 6 at the hospital Info Desk, Administration on the 3 rd floor of the hospital, Putnam Pediatrics and Internal Medicine, Prompt Care, Family Medicine of Cloverdale and North Putnam Family Medicine. Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. Simply purchase raffle tickets to be eligible to win amazing prizes. Need not be present to win. All proceeds will go to the Putnam County Hospital Cancer Center’s Mammography Fund; a fund set up for individuals who cannot financially afford their mammogram. Also at the open house will be information about 3D mammograms, services provided by Lillian Pfister, FNP-C, WHNP-C and Putnam Women’s Health, and the navigation program at Putnam County Hospital Cancer Center, which walks patients through the process of cancer care one step at a time to assure they receive the very best in care and guidance.
The annual Pink Balloon Release will take place following the open house at 2:30pm at the front lawn of the hospital. This annual event, hosted by the Putnam County Hospital Cancer Center, honors those who have fought or are currently fighting breast cancer. Pink balloons will be provided. All are encouraged to attend.
Throughout the month of October, those who schedule their mammogram will be treated with a special gift bag full of gifts every woman will love. With 3D mammograms now available at Putnam County Hospital, which detects 41% more invasive breast cancers, now is the time to schedule your exam close to home. To schedule your mammogram, call 765.658.2760.
